Werribee mansion labour day
Today is my sister’s birthday. She is 17 months older than me. We were both born on a Tuesday, at five minutes to an hour, on the second to last day of the month and two weeks earlier than expected.
We have had a brilliant upbringing and a care-free childhood. Sure we fought like cat and dog and had the usual arguments of why I was allowed to do the same things that she was doing despite me being younger.
Our turning point came on a family holiday to France when we were about 16 and 17. It just clicked. We were friends from then on.
She is the better half of me, is someone who is always kind and has time for everything. She is super smart, amazingly composed and has the biggest heart.
Now that I live on the otherside of the world to her, there are natural moments when I miss her terribly. However, none more so than on special days like today or wholly unspecial days but just calling after a tough day at work to talk as we both walked home.
We have the same laugh and ridiculous sense of humour and I love that even now we are able to be as silly as we once were.
Happy Birthday darling CB.I miss you more than words can say
